JudaDaniel Scott Juda
The recipient of The Owen R Siegel/RS Owens Memorial Scholarship is Daniel Scott Juda, Sedona Engraving & Awards, Sedona, AZ

In his essay, Daniel says that the practice of rewarding those who've made positive impacts on society "creates an environment in which the members of society are positive, reassuring, helpful, and hard working." He says that they're also likely to repeat to they've done.

 

ColeChristopher Cole
The recipient of The Estelle Funk Memorial Scholarship (Plastic Dress-Up Co.) is Christopher Cole, Custom Awards & Engraving, Ventura, CA

In his essay, Chris says: "The act of recognizing and awarding excellence is something that is inherently human. By doing so, we make everyone around us more humane. Especially in turbulent times," he says," it is nice to reflect on the good in people."

     

BobyackAmanda Bobyack
The recipient of The Calvin E Miller Memorial Scholarship (Tower Ribbons) is Amanda Bobyack, Laser Design Inc., Fanwood, NJ

In her essay, Amanda says, "The individual recognition that came as a result of my accomplishments in sports taught me that dedication and hard work can lead to success. It also gave me the confidence to help others on my team, which has made me a better and stronger person."

 

LumbergSuzanne Lumberg
The recipient of The JDS Industries Scholarship is Suzanne Lumberg, Johnson Plastics, Minneapolis, MN

According to Suzanne, there are three reasons to recognize and award people: 1) to give a person a goal to reach, 2) to show someone they are appreciated and that their actions are worthwhile, and 3) to set an example for society.

     

GoodingLisa Gooding
The recipient of The George J. Waas Memorial Scholarship (General Awards) is Lisa Gooding. Southeastern Trophy Supply Raleigh, NC

In her essay, Lisa says that her sports trophies symbolize goals she's reached. "Even years later, a trophy or award serves as a visual reminder of the success a person has achieved," Lisa says. It "can encourage them and others to continue to strive for their goals."
